I was one of the first Special Education advocates in the DC area after IDEA went into effect in the early 1990's. My work in that sector has taken me into the roles of services facilitator/advocate, community activist, and expert witness in legal matters concerning areas of education. As Vice President and acting board member of the Mental Health Association of Northern Virginia, I have received recognition for being a liaison to mental health professionals in bridging educational services. First and foremost, I have a longstanding career working with students on a one- on- one basis in many educational areas , ranging from critical thinking, academic efficiency, writing skills, test entrance preparation, and college success.
